Karlovskiy and Glasspool to Face Off in Singles Final
The Singles Final Will Take Place Tomorrow at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex.
No. 1 seed Evgeny Karlovskiy advances to the singles final following his 6-4, 6-4 victory over Collin Altamirano. Prior to entering the tournament, Karlovskiy was ranked No. 329 in the world in singles. As of July 16, Karlovskiy is ranked No. 245 in the world. This ranking shows with his victory over No. 3 seed Altamirano.
Karlovskiy has won seven futures titles since 2015, with one challenger victory at the 2018 Winnetka Challenger. If he takes home a victory tomorrow he will have his second futures win of the year.
Lloyd Glasspool (pictured) will also advance to the singles final after his 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 victory over Alex Brown. Glasspool broke Brown multiple times during the game which propelled him to the win. Glasspool currently sits at No. 538 in the world singles ranking with his highest rank of No. 282 back in 2016.
The former Texas Longhorn and No. 6 seed will face No.1 seed Karlovskiy tomorrow. Waukee native Alex Brown fell to Glasspool and has been eliminated.
